So much to share, photos to come, but here's a quick update to hold you over:
Kyle and I went to San Fran this past weekend for a Getaway. The boys spent the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Tormoehlen. We're all tired this week getting adjusted again. Kyle and I think San Fran is one of the coolest cities we've ever seen!
Zachary is in his new preschool room this week. He's so excited to play on the big slide and learn in a bigger room. He's thriving and he's excited in his new environment.
We also have Zachary's surgery scheduled for May 23. He's going to have his GI scoped and tested for allergies as well as a new, second set of ear tubes and an adenoidectomy. We're nervous for our little guy, so welcome all positive thoughts and prayers.
Zachary is signed up for his first summer of soccer. His team meets the first weekend in June. He often sees other kids play soccer in the park and gets pretty excited, so I'm sure he'll totally love playing and meeting new friends.
Max is SIX MONTHS!! I took him in for his wellness visit:
- He's 16.9 lbs- 25th percentile
- He's 26 inches- 25th percentile
- He's head is 45 cm- 75th percentile
We're all well and getting excited for the summer. It snowed in Denver on May 1st, so the boys are totally over the cold and ready to explore their yard this summer!
Pictures to come!

Snow Day
Today was a snow day! The weather anchors predicted a MONSTER snow that would shut down Denver. They advised people to stay off the roads and to brace for a storm. Most schools, including ours, closed last night.
When we woke up, we were ready.....but the storm really never came. We had a few inches but the school was closed, so we spent the day playing in our PJ's, did 10 more Easter egg hunts, did lots of art, watched lots of cartoons, ate grilled cheese for lunch, and spaghetti for dinner. It was a great day!
Back to work and school tomorrow!

Dear Max,
You're FIVE months old, little buddy! I just love you to pieces and more! I can't seem to get enough of your smiles, your laughs, and your new raspberry skills!
You are getting so big! You like to roll over on your own, you now sleep on your tummy every night, you LOVE watching your big brother, and you LOVE eating cereal and baby food. You get excited when you're in your highchair and know when it's your bath time.
You're doing well in school and ALL of the teachers love you. Recently, your brother has requested to drop you off and pick you up in your room everyday. Zachary patiently waits in the morning while mom or dad puts bottles and gear away and when we're done, he'll give you a kiss goodbye. And when I pick you up, he'll shout, "SNACK! THERE HE IS!". It's the sweetest.
You also enjoy the sound of your Dad's voice. You'll often look for him and enjoy laying in his arms in the mornings.
Still not sleeping in the night, but I've almost given up hope I'll ever sleep again anyway. Here's to wishing!!
You are a true love and joy for me Max. You make our family feel complete and you were the exact baby I prayed for!
I love you to the moon and back!!

Potty Time!
Big week! Zachary has peed in the potty twice this week!
This is really big news, as we haven't pushed this or started training. Zachary has just shown interest a few times in school and we just got some 'action'!
He still hasn't been successful at home, but still likes to try. Here's what it looks like on the weekends:

Just A Year Ago
Just a year ago this week, Zachary was admitted into the hospital for RSV. It was so very scary.
And in this year, we've started his long road to treatment. He has dermatologists, pulmonologists, allergists, and he'll see his new GI doctor in just a few weeks.
It's been a tough year for Zachary, but I just know we're turning a corner with his health.
May this year be his best yet!

The (Nobody's) Sleeping Diaries
So.Tired. So very, very tired.
We've been battling the daycare crud in our house and we're up all night. The boys have passed eye goop, coughs, and lots of snot, so needless to say, I'd do anything for just one night of sleep.
On a typical night, Max wakes 2-3 times, so that's pretty harsh. His doctor said he's not ready to make it through the night, so have to wait on sleep training until May.
Being sleep deprived is wild. You're certainly not your sharpest at work and sometimes I question if I should be driving. The other day, I just happened to glance down and noticed my gas night was blinking. I BARELY made it to a gas station on fumes. I NEVER do that !
Mark my sad words. I bet Max starts to sleep through the night and a week later he'll start teething.
Wishing for just one night!

Zachary rolls around to get himself to sleep and will often end up in the strangest looking positions. This isn't comfortable, is it?

And still has a pacifier. Once Max came, pacifiers had a strong return. So, we got that going on too!

Poor Kimbo. He's no longer allowed upstairs. It looks like he's in jail every night.

Tormoehlen Boys
These boys are getting so fun! It's SO MUCH work, but it's moments like this weekend that seem to make it all worthwhile.
When Max was born, Kyle and I never forced a relationship with him on Zachary. We decided we'd let Zachary decide when he was ready and it seems he's making a turn to get interested in his brother. We'll often catch Zachary hugging Max, sharing toys, and laughing with him.
This Saturday morning, Zachary wanted to read his favorite book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, to Max and I and it was too cute! First, Zachary knows this book backwards and forwards. He'll read it every night and several times on the weekend. He gets every word, every animal and every color perfect!
Zachary talks about being a big brother and being a bog boy and I just know these boys will be so close growing up!
This is what makes all of the sleep exhaustion worth it.
