Weekend Update

We had a few fun things happen this weekend at the Tormoehlen House this weekend:

  • Colin has been asking for us to take him to the Library for weeks now. I'm not sure where he learned about libraries, but he's been so excited. Kristy and I took the boys yesterday and it was really fun to see Colin's overwhelmed and excited face when we walked into the Children's area. In the car, Colin and Dylan talked about getting books about dinosaurs, sharks, and Spiderman. There must be a million books in the library, but in typical little brother ways, they seemed to fight over three books. The settled on a few and we walked out with a fun memory.

  • I dusted off and hung up my CSU flag yesterday in preparation of the Rocky Mountain Showdown. Our Ram flag flies proud in our neighborhood. Kyle and I got tickets to the game, but I ended up giving mine up as I started to get nervous of being almost 8 mo pregnant in the heat with portapotties, drunk college students, and no shade. I'm bummed, but think I made the right decision. I was really excited to take little Elvis to his first CSU game, but I guess his dad will have to represent our family and cheer for us both. I love cheering for the underdogs! Go Rams!

  • I got a new Broncos T-Shirt. Quite amazing. See below-

  • Kyle spent the weekend camping with my Uncle near Wyoming. It was a big weekend of drinking lots of beer, eating lots of meat, riding ATV's, fishing, farting in a camper and just being a dude. I could smell him coming around the corner when he came home. Although he was super dirty and tired, I was really happy he was home...and so was his best friend in the world, Kimbo.

Look at my little readers!

Just so the neighbors know who we cheer for

Super amazing new T-Shirt

"Ohh Kyle. Even though you're stinky, you're my best friend in the WORLD."

Home from the dude weekend. This car is oozing testerone.

The Countdown

Elvis is 30 weeks and the countdown is on. 10 weeks to go!

We have some big events coming up:

  • Next Tuesday, my wonderful co-workers are throwing me a shower. I'm so thankful for them and it will be great to spend time with them outside the office. Mom and Kristy are even stopping by to meet everyone.
  • Next Thursday, we've signed up to get a 3D Ultrasound. We're hoping to see a healthy, chunky little baby and hope he's 'headed in the right direction'. I'm sure he'll look really cute and I'll be posting photos. We haven't seen him since May, so it will be lots of fun to say hello.
  • We're starting to interview pediatricians, which will be pretty wild.
  • We're starting our baby classes in September.

Me and Elvis feel great. He's a strong kicker and that makes me happy.

Kyle is getting ready to head to WY this weekend with my Uncle Dave to get in some serious fishing time. I'm happy he'll get to take time to do what makes him happy. I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of nesting and pool time while he's away.

Carter Grace Tormoehlen

She's HERE! Carter Grace Tormoehlen, my new niece was born at 2:03 AM on Sunday, August 22. She was 6 lbs 10 oz, has lots of dark blonde hair, and lots of smiles. Mom Alicia and baby are very healthy and happy and Eric is slowly recovering as well. Kyle and I saw everyone on Sunday afternoon and poor Eric and Alicia were only awake on adrenaline, so I hope they got some rest last night.
I think she's going to teach this Team Blue a few lessons in her life and I'm excited to watch her grow.
Congratulations Eric and Alicia. She's really cute!

Weekend In Copper

This weekend, Kyle and I joined the Walsh family in Copper. Kristy signed up to run the Warrior Dash. For those of you who are unfamiliar, this is a three mile race up a ski slope, over hay barrels, through mud, and over fire. It was fun to watch Kristy, but Elvis sure didn't like the lack of air in The Mountains. I had a few strong Braxton Hicks, so I was happy to head back down on Sunday.

Here are some photos from the weekend:

Go Mommy! You're #1!

Even Grandma Maggie and Grandpa Ed came to cheer on Kristy!

I've heard this exfoliates the skin....

Kristy and Carey. They made it!

They heard there was free beer at the finish line-

The 'before' shot

Kyle took the boys fishing, but they had more fun throwing rocks in the pond. Oh, boys...........

The boys brought up their swimming goggles, but forgot the swimsuits.

This is SO CUTE! Our friend Luis watched Kimbo this weekend. Kimbo was a nice dog and gave up his bed to the cat. This looks like a postcard!

Week 29 and Counting

Me and Elvis share a few fun similarities this week.
1. We're both 29
2. We're only 29 for a little while longer

I've been feeling great, the only downfall is lack of sleep. This two pound kid on my gut is getting challenging to maneuver at night, but I've been trying to make it work by building a pillow fort in my bed every night.

Kyle and I are working through a few reality checks this week. We toured the daycare this morning and watched a new mom drop off her baby. Her little girl cried so loud for her mom, I thought I was going to lose it. And after you hear the babies cry, they give you a cute little price sheet that makes you want to cry again. My sister and I attended daycare for over 10 years and I truly believe it was a great experience for us to be social and learn about big kids getting what they want (the lesson still holds true in Corporate America), but I'm sure it's VERY tough on moms.

We're getting ready to head to Copper this weekend to watch Kristy run in the Warrior Dash. This is her first big race and the whole family is going up to cheer her on. Kyle is also taking Colin and Dylan fishing, so it will be great to watch them reel in their first Trout! And if this wasn't exciting enough, on our way back down the hills, we'll stop by the Hospital to meet our niece. Eric and Alicia are being induced tonight, so there should be a baby by Sunday.

Here are some picts from this week:

This is SO FUN. I've always wanted to have Columbines and Kyle planted these back in March. They are SO beautiful and a reason I love Colorado! It's little things like this that make me smile, and I literally smile every time I see these.

The Columbines make Mr Kimbo smile too!

Ok. I questioned whether I should post this photo, but since we're all friends and we're all on the topic of reality, I thought I should post a photo of what a tired pregnant woman looks like when she needs eight hours of sleep, a haircut, a pedicure, and vacation to the Bahamas. OUI!

Cara's Baby Shower

Yesterday was Cara's baby shower. It was so much fun and beautiful. You couldn't ask for a better day with a better view. Shannon and Mckenna came down from Ft Fun and she was the star of the show. Check out those sunglasses!

Say hello to your buddy, little Elvis!

My Impromtu Lunch Date

I love my man. Somehow ALL of my appointments cancelled today, so I called to see if Kyle would take me to lunch. Good thing for me- he was available. He took me to lunch and then bought me this monster cupcake and introduced me to his friend at the bakery. What a guy.

Every Now and Then

My, how things have changed! This pregnancy has been a life changer! Things have gotten bigger and better, but it's wild to think about the last seven months.

- Then, I used to jet out of work right at 5p once a week to catch my favorite hot yoga class. Now, I jet out once a week at 5p to catch a lamaze class.

-Then, I used to wear fun, short skirts to work. Now, I wear dresses to my ankles.

- Then, I used to wear super fun, bright, tall heels. Now, I can wear three pairs of shoes and none are taller than an inch....and they are all plain black.

- Then, I used to jog an hour around my neighborhood. Now, I get winded walking up a flight of stairs.

- Then, I used to grab an after work cocktail with friends. Now, I watch movies on how to stop your baby from crying after work.

- Then, I used to remember people's names and numbers. Now, I forget my own name.

- Then, I used to have the itch to travel. Now, I want a nap.

Believe me, this is a wild experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything, it just makes me smile every now and then to think about how much will change in the seven months to come.......and I'm sure it will change me for the better.

27 Weeks

Me and Kimbo practicing Blue Steel.

It's Friday. It's been a long week. And it's August! Here are a few updates from the Tormoehlen house:

  • We went to Adam's send off party this week. He's now officially a student of Butler and a resident of Indiana.
  • Kyle worked for HOURS on the nursery this past weekend. We're installing shelves for storage. You'll still have to wait for photos though! It's coming along, but I'm not ready for the reveal.
  • We have a niece coming any time now. Eric and Alicia are prepared and now just waiting for their first daughter to arrive this month.
  • We're getting excited to see Cara next weekend! It's her baby shower and this might be the last time I see her before the baby comes.

We've been working long hours, but it's been worth it. Our house is coming along and me and Elvis are strong and healthy.

Summertime!

Me, Elvis and Kimbo after our great Dr Apt. We got a perfect bill of health!!

I asked Kyle to get a close up of my belly and he chopped off my head. This made me laugh a bit..
It was REALLY hot out for Kristy's birthday and the boys wanted to run through the sprinklers naked, but Colin did manage to find a cape and some ice cream for his friends. (This photo was censored a bit)

Here's a photo of my man after we got a massage for our anniversary. He loved it!
