Happy Half, Max!!

Today we celebrated  Max's 1/2 birthday.  It was a most awesome day and it proves that once again, Max brings out the best in everyone.

We had the Walsh's over, both grandparents, Adam, Luis and our neighbors Karla and Cory.  Kyle cooked up LOTS of great food and I made Zachary's egg-less cake for everyone.

Thank you everyone that came!  You're only 1/2 once, so it was great to celebrate with all of you!

Baby Max,

SWEET BABY MAX,
You're six months old!  I can't even stand it!  I'm borderline obsessed with you, as I just can't can't get enough of you!

You have so many smiles for us.  From the moment you wake up, to a few smiles in your sleep, you have brought so much joy to our family.

Here are a few of your new tricks:
- You love to babble.  da-da-da-da-da
- You love to eat your toes
- You love to eat- All of the time, really.
- You can sit up and you love the new view
- You like watching cartoons with your brother
- You're sleeping!  You make it from 10p-530a
- You love finding your dad.

Fun story- you're getting so big, but I needed to sit you up, so I put you in your baby swing.  That motor was working SO HARD to swing you, but it just wouldn't work.  After it was grinding and trying it's best, we decided to retire the swing and get out your saucer.  You smiled and babbled through it all.  (Grind, grind grind...da-da-da-da-da-da)

Want to know something else that's pretty cool?  We're still nursing!  BOO-YAH.  It seems to be your favorite thing before you sleep, and I don't mind getting a break at work, so three cheers for Mom and Max!

I love you so much Max!!!

"Are You Going To San Francisco?"

Kyle and I spent a weekend in San Francisco WITHOUT THE KIDS!  I didn't think a vacation was possible, but Dave gave Kyle and I some of his mileage from work, so we just needed a hotel and some cash!

We stayed downtown and spent our (quick) weekend learning to get around the city, ate awesome food, took the ferry under the Golden Gate, slept in, sat by the pool, and were in bed by 10p every night!

I LOVED the city.  It's a huge city, but it's clean, there's LOTS to do, lots to eat, and LOTS to see!  I would totally bring the boys sometime to check it out.  It's pretty kids friendly in all of the tourist places.

It was great to spend time with Kyle and the boys had a nice weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Tormoehlen's.  Everyone was tired for the next week, but we made it through and I'm looking forward to going on another adventure with Kyle sometime soon!

So Much to Share, So Little Time

So much to share, photos to come, but here's a quick update to hold you over:

Kyle and I went to San Fran this past weekend for a Getaway.  The boys spent the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Tormoehlen.  We're all tired this week getting adjusted again.  Kyle and I think San Fran is one of the coolest cities we've ever seen!

Zachary is in his new preschool room this week.  He's so excited to play on the big slide and learn in a bigger room.  He's thriving and he's excited in his new environment.

We also have Zachary's surgery scheduled for May 23.  He's going to have his GI scoped and tested for allergies as well as a new, second set of ear tubes and an adenoidectomy.  We're nervous for our little guy, so welcome all positive thoughts and prayers.

Zachary is signed up for his first summer of soccer.  His team meets the first weekend in June.  He often sees other kids play soccer in the park and gets pretty excited, so I'm sure he'll totally love playing and meeting new friends.

Max is SIX MONTHS!!  I took him in for his wellness visit:
- He's 16.9 lbs- 25th percentile
- He's 26 inches- 25th percentile
- He's head is 45 cm- 75th percentile

We're all well and getting excited for the summer.  It snowed in Denver on May 1st, so the boys are totally over the cold and ready to explore their yard this summer!

Pictures to come!

Snow Day

Today was a snow day!  The weather anchors predicted a MONSTER snow that would shut down Denver.  They advised people to stay off the roads and to brace for a storm.  Most schools, including ours, closed last night.

When we woke up, we were ready.....but the storm really never came.  We had a few inches but the school was closed, so we spent the day playing in our PJ's, did 10 more Easter egg hunts, did lots of art, watched lots of cartoons, ate grilled cheese for lunch, and spaghetti for dinner.  It was a great day!

Back to work and school tomorrow!

Here is the back of Zachary's new Mohawk!  It's really fun!

Dear Max,

You're FIVE months old, little buddy!  I just love you to pieces and more!  I can't seem to get enough of your smiles, your laughs, and your new raspberry skills!

You are getting so big!  You like to roll over on your own, you now sleep on your tummy every night, you LOVE watching your big brother, and you LOVE eating cereal and baby food.  You get excited when you're in your highchair and know when it's your bath time.

You're doing well in school and ALL of the teachers love you.  Recently, your brother has requested to drop you off and pick you up in your room everyday.  Zachary patiently waits in the morning while mom or dad puts bottles and gear away and when we're done, he'll give you a kiss goodbye.  And when I pick you up, he'll shout, "SNACK!  THERE HE IS!".  It's the sweetest.

You also enjoy the sound of your Dad's voice.  You'll often look for him and enjoy laying in his arms in the mornings.

Still not sleeping in the night, but I've almost given up hope I'll ever sleep again anyway.  Here's to wishing!!

You are a true love and joy for me Max.  You make our family feel complete and you were the exact baby I prayed for!

I love you to the moon and back!!
Mom
